I bought this without knowing anything about Hockey (I'm from southern europe and hockey isn't really a big thing here). Honestly you should be interested in this game only if you like the sport (or american sports in general) or if you are a big fan of the Football Manager game and you really want to try something different.

I actually have 40 hours on Hockey Manager and I might be one of the fews around here who played this game so I will give my two cents about it. I'm kinda bummed there's no Shogun 2 or Rome 2 for some reason, seeing that those are the base games for these expansions, also, are there not going to be new games added next week?
COMPANY OF HEROES 2 NOSTEAM KICKASS SERIES
I really enjoyed Attila, but keep in mind there were many gameplay changes between Shogun and the Rome 2 series that have alienated some players.Įach of these games will easily give you hundreds of hours of gameplay, due to the length of even the short campaign and the faction diversity giving you a reason to return.

I will never forget the futility of my Black Blades failing to catch up to the Huns as the lol'd away, firing backwards while at full gallop in their customary Parthian Shot fashion. Instead of building up small and growing your empire, this game is much more difficult, you'll find yourself barely hanging onto the land you have as ravaging nomads and famine keep you on your toes, and just when you think you have a handle on things, the fucking Huns come and wreck your shit with thousands upon thousands of horse archers. It plays very differently compared to other Total War games. This is the newest Total War game to be released, and although there are still some optimization issues I liked it quite a bit. I think the $12 tier for Attila is actually a decent deal, considering all the other games you get (if you don't have them). This game is very beautiful and still holds up well. Very Tom Cruise, Last of the Samurai ish. Set during the Meiji Restoration, this game features plenty of glorious banzai katana charges against Armstrong cannons and more modern weaponry. Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai is also great, it's probably the best expansion to the most polished Total War game there is. Ever wanted to destroy everyone in the Shire as Mordor with Sauron acting as a pope-like figure? Medieval 2 also has a really great LOTR mod.

No brainer for just $1 if you're into strategy games involving hundreds of men trying to bash each other to death on the field. Rome Total War and Medieval 2 are both classics that are a bit dated, but very fun still nonetheless. Additionally, each soldier has their own personality, strengths, and weaknesses, as revealed in their bios and abilities. After your turn is over, the enemy goes, then back to you.īetween the battles the story is told via cinematics and visual novel segments. You have a limited amount of action points which you may use to control your soldiers each turn, and each soldier has a limited amount of ammo and stamina (movement range) each turn. If you fire at an enemy, they will fire back if they are able to.

The exception is that when you hit to aim, the game pauses and switches to first-person and you may aim at your leisure. Thus enemies that see you will fire on you in real time. You take turns picking a soldier to control, then you control them in real time from a third-person perspective. The start of each battle has you select your team and deploy them to the fixed positions. It's been $5 before, which I think is a steal, so well with getting the current BTA for assuming you'll pick up something else along with it. The game is a (IMO fantastic) turn-based strategy RPG.
